Hiking

Hike at Kynnefjäll in Bohuslän, one of Sweden’s most scenic areas. You can start from our facility and hike on marked trails of varying lengths. Here you can hike in quiet areas without the disturbance of busy roads. The Bohusleden runs like a vein through the whole of Kynnefjäll and KynnefjällsNatur is now along the Bohusleden. We are the end of stage 18 and the start of stage 19. We offer Bohusleden hikers a well-deserved break where they can sleep in comfortable beds, take a hot shower, wash their clothes and eat a good breakfast where you also have the opportunity to pack a lunch for the day’s upcoming adventure.

Hiking package with Full-service – summer

Enjoy a relaxing wilderness environment. If you want to paddle along the river, it is possible to rent a canoe on site. In the evenings, you enjoy food prepared from scratch where game, berries and mushrooms come from the nearby forests. Breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant. You make a lunch bag for today’s adventure yourself from the breakfast food.

Hiking package with Self-service – spring & autumn

In the spring, the wild and beautiful nature at Kynnefjäll blossoms and in the autumn the forest bursts in yellow, orange and red. Discover Bohuslän’s hinterland on your own, where the majority of trails of varying lengths start just outside the house knot.

Kasebo in the Kynnefjäll nature reserve

The popular walking area at Kasebo is located in the southern part of the nature reserve, only about 12 km hiking from our facility.

Fjällgården Kasebo, located northeast of Vaktarekullen, is an important connection point for hiking on Bohusleden and other hiking trails on Kynnefjäll.

The walkway from the parking lot to the wind shelter and the barbecue area by the small Holmevattnet is accessible. If you don’t want to hike there, the easiest way to get to the area is by car to the farm Kasebo.

Hiking tips! Park at Kasebo and walk 12 km down to us at KynnefjällsNatur, eat a good dinner in the evening. Sleep in comfortable beds, eat breakfast and pack a lunch. The next day you hike back to your car at Kasebo where there are even more trails to explore.

Bohusleden

Bohusleden runs through Kynnefjäll on its way between Strömstad and Lindome. Bohusleden consists of 27 stages that offer a total of 370 km of scenic and varied hiking, of which 70 km in a north-south direction through the municipality of Munkedal. Stages 19-20 go over Kynnefjäll.

Bohusleden got a new stretch on 22/6 2021, so now we have stage end 18 and stage start 19 with us. KynnefjällsNatur offers hikers a much-needed stop. Sleep in a comfortable bed, shower, wash clothes and dry wet shoes in the shoe dryer.

If you hike north, KynnefjällsNatur is the last opportunity for service before you reach the border areas in Vassbotten, approximately 60 kilometers of hiking. For further information about possible service, contact KynnefjällsNatur tel. 0524-320 88.

Allemansrätten

In Sweden, everyone has the right to be out in nature. We call it “allemansrätten”, the common law. It is a unique benefit, which means a great deal of freedom. But it requires responsibility and good judgment from those of us who use it.

The common law also means that we have certain obligations. We must not damage nature and wildlife. We must show consideration towards landowners and towards other people out in nature. »Don’t disturb, don’t destroy« is a short and sweet expression that simply summarizes how we show common sense.

The regulations vary for the different nature reserves and conservation areas. You can find further information on the county board’s website.
