The mountain was guarded around the clock for about 20 years during the 1980s and 1990s by the action group Save Kynnefj\u00e4ll from a small cabin. The cabin is located on the southern part of the mountain. The cottage is, since it was moved across the road, protected and looked after by the association.<br \/>\nThe Guinness Book of Records states that it is the longest protest action in the world in terms of time. If you don&#8217;t want to hike there, the easiest way to get to the area is by car to the farm Kasebo.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Hiking tips! <\/strong>Park at Kasebo and walk 12 km down to us at Kynnefj\u00e4llsNatur, eat a good dinner in the evening. Sleep in comfortable beds, eat breakfast and pack a lunch. On the Swedish side, the place is called Vassbotten, while on the Norwegian side it is called Holtet. The road that crosses the border here runs between Halden in Norway and Munkedal in Sweden &#8211; on the Norwegian side it is called Riksv\u00e4g 22 and in Sweden the road is called L\u00e4nsv\u00e4g 165 &#8211; often called the blue-green road due to its beautiful surroundings with lakes and forests. It is run by the V\u00e4stkuststiftelsen and has 12 beds, a stove, firewood, a drying rack and a source of water that should be boiled for safety&#8217;s sake.
